Assessment of Climate Change and Land Use Effects on Water Lily (Nymphaea L.) Habitat Suitability in South America

چکیده

Many aquatic species have restricted dispersal capabilities, making them the most vulnerable organisms to climate change and land use patterns. These factors deplete Nymphaea species’ suitable habitats, threatening their populations survival. In addition, are poorly documented, which may indicate how scarce they or will become. Members of ecologically important as well having cultural economic value, conservation interest. Therefore, using maximum entropy (MaxEnt) approach, climatic variables, use, presence points were modeled for seven in South America, three general circulation models (CCSM4, HADGEM2-AO, MIROC5) two representative concentration pathways (RCPs 4.5 8.5) scenarios (2050 2070). Our results indicated that mean diurnal range (bio2), precipitation wettest month (bio13), temperature seasonality (bio15), (dom_lu) main influencing factors. For all species, areas concentrated east Brazil, variable northern parts continent. Besides, inconsistent expansion contraction habitats noticed among species. example, N. amazonum, rudgeana, lasiophylla future habitat expansions declined increased, while ampla jamesoniana, both pulchella rudgeana it varied RCPs. Moreover, largest projected outside protected areas, characterized by high human impacts, despite our analysis indicating no significant between unprotected change. Finally, understanding affect distribution is critical developing measures

Potential effects of individual versus simultaneous climate change factors on growth and water use in chickpea

It has been reported that in different regions and sowing dates, the response of crops to past climate change is not the same, due to different rates of decrease/increase in each climatic variable at different regions and months of year. This study was aimed to assess the effect of individual versus simultaneous changes in solar radiation (S), precipitation (P) and temperature (T) on rainf...

Climate change effects on wheat yield and water use in oasis cropland

Agriculture of the inland arid region in Xinjiang depends on irrigation, which forms oasis of Northwest China. The production and water use of wheat, a dominant crop there, is significantly affected by undergoing climate variability and change. The objective of this study is to quantify inter-annual variability of wheat yield and water use from 1955 to 2006. The farming systems model APSIM (Agr...

Effects of climate change on subtropical forests of South America

Premontane forest in northern Argentina and southern Bolivia represents a conservation priority due to its biological values, role of connectivity among different forest types, and precious timber resources. Premontane forest distribution has fluctuated in correspondence to habitat use and changes in climatic conditions. The objective of this study was to determine current and future distributi...

Effects of climate change on water use efficiency in rain-fed plants

Water use efficiency (WUE) reflects the coupling of the carbon and water cycles and is an effective integral trait for assessing the responses of vegetated ecosystems to climate change. In this study, field experiments were performed to examine leaf WUE (WUEleaf) in response to changes in CO2 concentration and other environmental variables, including soil moisture and air temperature. We al...

Impact of Climate Change on Water Resources in Agriculture 7 Forests , Land Use Change , and Water

A forest is a biotic community predominated by trees and woody vegetation that are signifi cantly taller, greater, thicker, and deeper than other vegetation types and generally covers a large area (Chang, 2003). Forests cover approximately 26.2% of the world, with 45.7% of Latin America and the Caribbean being covered, 35% of East Asia and the Pacifi c, and 35% of the European Union. Canada and...
